Girlfriend [24f] has a male friend [24m] who is going through a break-up. They want to act like a couple on social media as an act of pettiness. Am I [24m] crazy for telling my girlfriend I'm uncomfortable with that?

So my girlfriend has this guy friend. He's been going through a very rough break-up. His now ex has done a ton of very hurtful things in the process.

My girlfriend has been supporting him through the process. Recently she told him that if he wants to do something petty, she's up for it.

As she was telling me about this, I asked what's something petty that you would do though?

She said that she would meet up with her friend, act like a new couple, and have the friend post it on social media (guy / ex are still friends on lots of social media). She asked if that would make me uncomfortable, and I said let me think about it.

I've had issues with insecurity in the past, so I try to take a deep breath and gather my thoughts when potential issues pop up.

My issue here is that I feel it's disrespectful to me and our relationship for her and her friend to pretend they're in a relationship just as an act of petty revenge on social media. I think it makes her look bad, and I think it makes me look like some chump.

Am I being insecure here, or is that a valid boundary for me to set up?

TL;DR - Girlfriend wants to pretend she's in a relationship on social media with her male friend as an act of petty revenge.
