My (26/m) girlfriend (25/f) makes violent threats to me as a joke, but I'm starting to wonder if she's actually joking. Should I run?

I've been with my girlfriend for around 3 months. I would say I'm fairly good to her; in fact, I spend about 90% of my time at her house.

As of late, however, she's started to make violent threats to me in character, sort of like she's doing a stereotype impersonation of a possessive girlfriend. What she typically does is whisper in my ear something like, "if you ever leave me, I'll cut off your penis in your sleep."

The other day, we were drinking in her backyard, and I got up to get a beer without asking her if she wanted one. Her roommate was in the backyard with us. At some point, she motioned at me to come over because she wanted to say something to me. So, I went over, and she was smiling, but then she whispered in my ear, "if you ever get a beer again without asking me if I want one, I'm going to murder you." This particular moment made my skin crawl.

I've got a very dark sense of humor, so I originally took these as jokes, but the more I think about it, the more it's starting to bother me. She doesn't do it in any context. She just says it out of nowhere.

I should also mention that she sometimes slaps and hits me. She doesn't act mad when she does it (she's usually laughing), and she doesn't do it ridiculously hard, but I'm thinking there might be some underlying anger behind it.

Should I be taking this seriously? Is it time for me to leave?

TL;DR Girlfriend makes violent threats to me as a "joke." Sometimes hits and slaps me as a "joke" as well. Should I break up with her?
