My wife and I have been married for 5 years now. We have 3 yr old daughter. As in any relationship, we have had our fair share of arguments over the years but recently they have been getting worse. The worst is, they usually now end with her telling me that she made a huge mistake marrying me and that she regrets it. Twice she has said that she wants a divorce. Once the fight is over she calms down and says she didn't mean it. Last time it happened a few days ago and it wasn't even a huge fight (she wanted me to put our daughter to bed and I felt tired). I guess I could have helped out but I feel like escalating such a small issue to telling me that marrying me is a mistake is a little excessive. She will tell me again soon that she didn't mean it but it's happened so many times now that I've started to believe it.
I don't really know what to do at this point. It used to hurt when she said it but now it just makes me really angry. I've seen a lot of posts from people talking about when they realized they made a mistake but I haven't really read anything from people whose spouses insisted that they made a mistake.
Before anyone asks if I help out at home or not, I do. I work full time. She wasn't working for the past 3 years and just started working part time (15-20 hrs a week). Overall she does look after our daughter more but I do my fair share when I can, considering I only get the weekend off and she gets 3 - 4 days off a week.
TL;DR Wife says she regrets every marrying me every time we have a small fight and later claims she didn't mean it
