Why and When You Should Visit a Med Spa Before Your Big Day

Why and When You Should Visit a Med Spa Before Your Big Day

If there’s one day in your life that you want to have flawless, glowing skin, it’s definitely at your wedding. Planning the most important day of your life is incredibly thrilling – but can also be insanely stressful and with stress comes a ton of potential skin issues like under eye bags, acne, hives and dark circles.

Often women devote themselves to a healthy diet and fitness plan before their wedding, resulting in weight loss. When you lose weight, you lose it from all over your body and often brides who lose a lot of weight before walking down the aisle, sometimes feel like they are ageing with a now thinner, less plump face.

On your big day, one thing is for sure, there will be an endless amount of photographs taken. You deserve to feel confident, gorgeous and relaxed on your big day.

Look the best possible version of yourself on your wedding day

If you want to look like the best possible version of yourself, perhaps you may want to explore the variety of med spa services available to you. There are so many quick and non-invasive procedures available that are natural-looking, easy and super effective.

Six months before

Do your research and schedule a consultation with a reputable med spa in your area.

Voice your skincare concerns and let them analyze your skin. Depending on what may be the best treatment plan for you, this would be the time to start services that may include :

1. Chemical peel

I recommend a VI peel, suitable for all skin types, which diminishes acne scars, fine lines and dark spots almost immediately with little to no real downtime (other than some mild redness.)

I advise my customers to come in for a series of 3-4 treatments spaced out about 6 weeks or so, with their final treatment taking place a month before their wedding.

2. Kybella

This has quickly become one of my most requested procedures.

Kybella is an injectable treatment that destroys fat cells under your chin to contour your profile and jawline.

Most patients require 2-4 treatments, which are spaced out a minimum of a month apart.  This is a perfect procedure for people who are unhappy or self-conscious with the stubborn double-chin, which many times is hereditary even without being overweight.

My patients have seen tremendous results with Kybella. It is a true life-changer. Just be prepared for lots of swelling for a few days after each session which is completely normal.

Results (which are very noticeable even after just one session) take about a month or so.

3. Facial

Facials counteract pollution and sun damage while improving skin texture and elasticity

Whether you’re in need of acne treatment, brightening or deep-cleansing, it’s important to customize your facial to your personal needs. Sometimes a combination alternating between different types of facials works best for those experiencing more problematic skin.

Try one every six to eight weeks, stopping a month prior to your wedding.

4. Laser hair removal

If you start laser hair removal six months before your big day, you’ll be stubble-free by your wedding.

Laser hair removal works by aping the pigment within the hair follicle and using heat to destroy it.

Botox can make a bride look well-rested and fresh.

Many people don’t realize that it can take up to 10 days to see the full result. Say bye bye to those wrinkles on your face that have been bothering you and hello to a refreshed complexion.

One Week Before

Dermaplaning

Dermaplaning is an exfoliation service that uses a scalpel to gently remove dead skin and peach fuzz from the surface of your skin.

The buildup of microscopic hair and dead skin cells can make your complexion look dull. There’s no downtime and your skin will be refreshed, glowing and rejuvenating.  It will change the way your makeup sits on your face and allow you to be picture-perfect in photos.
