5 Healthy Grooming Tips for the Man of the Hour

5 Healthy Grooming Tips for the Man of the Hour

The big day of saying ‘i do’ is around the corner and you need to be all set to look your best on the most important day of your life.

Looking your best is not just the bride’s goal, it definitely should be the groom’s goal as well. Not just for the pictures but to enjoy the overall, beautiful experience, i.e. the wedding, grooming oneself is really important.

While you may opt to go with a little bit of makeup on your wedding day, most of the grooming and glow on your face is in your hands and the preparation for that must begin a month or two in advance.

If you follow a few simple tips, you can definitely expect a glowing, refreshing skin on your wedding day.

Here are some grooming and fitness tips for you to follow a month or a few weeks before the wedding, to help you achieve a naturally good skin and body on your wedding day.

1. Skin care regime

Okay so firstly, let’s establish a basic understanding of skin care.

One of the most important things you need to understand about skin is that whatever products or skin care routine you are going to follow, it takes your skin a while to adjust to the new skin care products and routine.

Once it has adjusted to the new products and routine, only then will your skin start showing signs of the routine working for you. So in case of a wedding coming up, make sure that you start trying out your new set of products and skin care routine way before the wedding.

We would suggest a month and a half before the wedding. This not only gives your skin plenty of time to adjust and show successful results but also gives you time to go back to your usual routine and skin care in case the new products do not work well for you.

Anything being done too close to the wedding runs a risk of not being rectified in case something goes wrong, so you need to make sure that you have plenty of time on hand.

2. Hair and beard grooming

If trying something different, ensure you do it well in advance

The best style for your hair and beard is the one you’ve been maintaining and the one people have been seeing you in.

If the current style is mainly what you keep your hair and beard like, then don’t change it because you would rather look like how you’ve always looked in your wedding album, which you will browse through years later.

However, in case you wish to try something different and experiment, make sure you do this well in advance and try it out at least twice before the wedding.

So this would mean that you try out the new hairstyle and beard at least a month in advance to see whether it suits you and whether you even like it or not.

If you do like it and want to keep that for your wedding, then ensure that you get your haircut at least four to five days before the wedding so that they have time to grow a bit and don’t end up looking like freshly mowed grass.

3. Foods

You need to understand that if you’ve got a sensitive skin, you need to take care of what you eat.

What goes into the body, comes out on the face.

Avoid oily, greasy, sugary, and junk foods, because these can easily cause acne and blemishes. Consume more of fruits, fibre, salads, healthy shakes, and juices to detox your body of impurities so that your body and your skin can glow and feel fresh on the wedding day.

Of course, it goes without saying that a good, healthy diet will also reflect on your body. You’ll be in a much better shape with a diet that’s rich in fruits, fibre and salads.

4. Hydration

Add lemon to your water and keep sipping on it for added detox benefits

To ensure that your body stays hydrated, try and consume at least 3 liters of water daily. This washes out toxins from your body, which will result in reduced blemishes and acne. It also helps keep your body active and refreshed.

Especially after the plenty of ideas for Stag do that your best man would have planned for you, you need to ensure that you keep yourself hydrated to detox your body of all the toxins.

Add lemon to your water and keep sipping on it for added detox benefits.

5. Exercise and sleep

Exercise is always a good habit whether you’re the groom to be or not.

But it is especially beneficial in the stressful weeks leading up to the wedding. Stress can cause breakouts, blemishes, dark circles, and lines.

While it’s almost impossible to NOT stress about the wedding coming up, you can manage this stress.

Having a regular workout regime will ensure your body is getting enough exercise, oxygen and your heart is active. This will reduce stress for your body.

Try and get enough sleep in the week leading up to your wedding. Get your night sleep as per the correct body clock time and try to get continuous sleep of at least 7 hours, if you don’t want to be lethargic on your wedding day.

A healthy habit is great for everyday schedule

While these tips and habits are great for an everyday schedule as well. It’s more important to keep these in mind during wedding time because its a much more stressful, emotional, and important day in your life than all the other, regular days.

Makeup can only do so much, the real work on your body and skin has to be done by you.

All you need to do is eat, drink, sleep and exercise right and you’re ready to be Mr Right for your Mrs. to be.
