The beautiful journey of more than half a decade finally culminated in the much-awaited wedding of the year.
Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone completed their journey from reel couple to real couple by tying the knot on 14th November 2018 in a white and gold themed traditional Konkani ceremony at Villa del Balbianello in Italy, overlooking the picturesque Lake Como.
The second wedding ceremony followed the traditional Sindhi rituals and was scheduled for 15th November 2018.
They managed to keep the affair private
The two-days Deepika Padukone-Ranveer Singh wedding affair got the fans and the media frenzied, but the wedding pictures released on Thursday showed a limited entourage of guests. The couple deployed three-layer security at the wedding to prevent the entry of media and others not included in the guest list.
The guest glitterati
Amidst the shimmers and glitters of raging fireworks, the couple took their vows in the company of 30 to 40 guests, comprising mostly of family and friends. Stars and directors like Shah Rukh Khan, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Farah Khan, Aditya Chopra were amongst the eminent Bollywood personalities who were seen attending the grand wedding of the year.
Before the auspicious day of the wedding, the couple exchanged rings. The Ring ceremony was followed by Sangeet and an emotional Mehendi.
At the Sangeet ceremony, Ranveer Singh got down on his knees and delivered an emotional speech to surprise his lady-love, Deepika Padukone.
Donating the wedding gift money for a noble cause
It has been reported that the Ram-Leela duo had requested guests to refrain from carrying any wedding presents. Instead, they had pledged to donate the money received as ‘Shagun’ to Deepika’s Live Laugh Love Foundation, which works on awareness about depression and mental health.
Stars’ contemporaries take to social media for blessing the couple
The fans and the stars of Bollywood like Anushka Sharma and Bipasha Basu took to the social media to shower their blessings on the golden couple. So did other actors and directors like Madhuri Dixit, Karan Johar, Neha Dhupia, and so on.
Ushering in the newlyweds on a musical note
Deepika Padukone’s cousin, Amit Padukone shared a beautiful post on Twitter to welcome the exuberant actor of Befikre-fame to the family. Further, it has been reported that the members of the Padukone-Singh family arranged a special guitar tribute playing all the numbers of the power couple to welcome and surprise them.
Grand reception slated for November end
The newlyweds will enjoy a brief honeymoon before turning back to India for the grand reception on November 28. The venue will be the Grand Hyatt, Mumbai. The reception will be attained by their family and friends from the film fraternity.
The couple has been the talk of the town since they were first rumored to be together during the ‘Goliyon Ki Rasleela: Ram-Leela’ days. However, DeepVeer managed to keep their affair under wraps, brushing off rumors and speculations trending the media world since then.
Finally, the couple broke their silence, and their wedding is taking the media by storm. The ecstatic fans are gushing over the wedding pictures of the celebrated couple and showering their wishes coupled with continued adulation for the duo.
