Hen night is the last night of celebrating the single life of the bride to be.
All her friends and some of her family members are supposed to get together and throw her a night filled with booze, fun, and lots and lots of dancing.
Traditionally the hen night is supposed to be organized and hosted by the maid of honor.
Since it can be a lot of work, the entire bridesmaid gang or team bride can get together and plan a hen night for the bride to be.

1. Involving the hen for the guest list
To decide who should be invited and who shouldn’t, you need to consider the hen’s opinion.
Sit with the entire team bride along with the bride-to-be and decide on a guest list of all the girls that you, and also the bride to be, want to invite.
2. Set a date for the hen night
Once the guest list is ready, set a date for the hen night. While making this decision, there are certain things you need to keep in mind. Choose a date where a maximum number of people from the guest list can attend.
Ensure that the date picked, is convenient for the bride and not too close to the wedding day because she will need time to get over the hangover and prep her body and skin for the wedding day.
So don’t plan a hen do in the last two weeks up to her wedding.
3. Introducing team bride
As the maid of honor, it is your responsibility to ensure that everyone on team bride is introduced and made familiar with each other.
This is important to ensure that everyone knows everyone before the event so that they are all comfortable with each other and have a great time on the hen night.
4. Share responsibility of budgeting
Don’t make hen night expenditure the responsibility of only one person and definitely don’t make the bride to pay for her own drinks.
Make sure that everyone is comfortable with contributing whatever they can for the hen night. Do not force anyone to pay more and fix a budget so that it’s easy for everyone to stick to it.
To plan a budget for the hen night, fix an amount for all the hen night ideas you have planned so that you do not spend more on one activity to be left with less for another. For example, fix a budget for decorations and props, then fix another budget for drinks and food etc.
5. Make your transport arrangements in advance
Whether you’re having a destination hen do or a local hen do, you need to ensure that you have booked enough cabs or transport to get your entire hen gang back to their hotel rooms safely.
Assuming the number of drinks that are going to be chugged that night, it’s always wiser to make your transport arrangements in advance.
6. Deciding on a theme and venue
Depending on what the bride likes, you need to book a venue for the hen night in advance. This could be anything from the bride’s favorite restaurant, pub or maybe just a cottage for all the girls to have a good time at.
To make things more fun, you can keep a theme for the hen night. This could be anything from vintage, the 80s or 90s, rock, and roll, etc. anything to give the dress code and the decorations a theme for the evening.
