UPDATE: How can I [24m] convince my older sister [29f] that I’m sober and stable enough to see her daughter [3f]?

After I reached out to my sister, she told me that she still didn’t feel comfortable around her daughter and that I needed to be sober and more stable longer before she let me see her.

Well, this pushed me over the edge and I ended up relapsing. I showed up at my sisters house completely out of my mind and she ended up having to call the police on me. I spent the night in the drunk tank but fortunately no charges were laid.

I’ve been sober again about two weeks but I think I’ve completely fucked up any chance I had left of seeing my niece. I’m trying not to use that as an excuse to use again. But it’s hard.

Just wanted to update I guess and get this off my chest.

Tl;dr: I ended up relapsing and am now only two weeks sober.
